Nassau Your Way: Renting an ATV with Vacations in Paradise

By Patrick Ketelaar “the Tiedyed Cruiser”

We explored some of Nassau’s top landmarks on foot. These included the Queen’s Staircase, Fort Fincastle, and the Pirate Museum. Afterward, we were ready to break away from the crowds and see more of the island. That’s when we found Vacations in Paradise Transportation & Tours. Their Instagram is @bahamapapa242. We decided to take our day to the next level.

Nassau Your Way offers an unparalleled experience for those looking to explore the island in style.

We rented a 4-seater side-by-side ATV. We hit the road, and honestly, it was one of the best decisions we made in the Bahamas.

ATV Rental Details

We booked the 4-seater side-by-side ATV for $300 for 2 hours. The price included helmets, local driving orientation, and basic insurance. You also get a clean, powerful vehicle perfect for small groups. You’ll need a valid driver’s license. You must be comfortable driving on the left side of the road, just like the locals.

One of the best parts of the experience was meeting Ray (Rachel), who helped us with the rental. She was not only knowledgeable but incredibly warm and welcoming. Her energy and helpful advice set the tone for a fantastic afternoon. Ray truly made us feel like we were in good hands — and made the whole thing seamless.

Where We Went

With the keys in hand, we were free to explore — and that’s exactly what we did:

šŸ›„ļø Atlantis Paradise Island

We drove over the bridge and wandered the marina and resort grounds. Even just walking around Atlantis felt like stepping into another world.

John Watling’s Distillery

This charming estate is home to Bahamian-made rum, free tastings, and a shady spot to take a break. It’s full of character and definitely worth a visit.

🌊 Seaside Roads & Scenic Stops – We cruised along coastal roads. We stopped at quieter beach areas. We visited scenic overlooks far from the cruise ship crowds.

🌮 Local Food Stands – We explored, then sampled some island favorites. We enjoyed fresh conch salad and grilled jerk chicken. To beat the heat, we had a few cold drinks.

Why This Experience Is Worth It

Renting an ATV gave us complete freedom. We had no schedules. There were no large tour groups. There was no rush. Just good company, beautiful views, and a chance to explore Nassau beyond the typical tourist paths.

If you’re looking to do something a little different in Nassau, we highly recommend Vacations in Paradise. This is especially true as a cruise stop. And if you go, be sure to ask for Ray. She’s a total gem. She will help you kick off an unforgettable island adventure.
